The trainee was equally unenthusiastic.Ordered the Imoto Hirame and it came in a puddle of lemon juice.

for our anniversary that I thought it would be worth the hour drive, $100 babysitter, $250 restaurant bill - it was not and I'm still pretty annoyed with it.Our server was training another server - our server didn't know the menu, couldn't answer questions, gave a lack luster interest anytime he was at our table.

Don't get your hopes too high.Ģnd time visiting was a complete 180 from our first visit - some food was really bad, some was great, service was horrible!Husbands 40th birthday, yay!, we had such a great experience last Sept. Again, presentation looked fine.In all my expectations were shattered, it's a place with a nice ambience and presentation, but feels like it's all for show. All of which they could've just walked over to the bar with and not done in front of the guest.4) The charred octopus tasted and looked more like lightly fried octopus. When I ordered a whiskey sour, it took them a few minutes standing trying to figure the device out before eventually moving on and confirming my whiskey of choice. There's a certain point where it gets intrusive and annoying, eventually we gave up on what food was on the plate just so he could have it.3) The waiter seemed distracted with the order intake device, we would be in the process of ordering and have to wait least a few minutes before one person's order was entered and then the next, and so on. Earlier that same day I was at Billy Can Can, a cocktail lounge nearby, so I had a very close and recent comparison.2) The waiter was incessant in collecting our plates. The presentation was cute.I then proceeded to order a whiskey sour for variety, what I got tasted like lime juice without whiskey. I ordered an old fashioned, it seemed nothing but bourbon, no distinctive orange taste or aroma.

I'll rate this place a 3/5 for its ambience, decent sushi, and decent fried rice which are the only things I liked.Cons:1) I love cocktails and the cocktails are horrible especially for the kind of place it appears to be. So maybe we just got the wrong thing, but if you're going to make sushi.make good sushi. When we walked to the restroom, the entrees around the restaurant looked awesome. The atmosphere was fun, although we were sat next to the alarm system that kept beeping. Our bill was $80 for these rolls and two drinks. The texture of the shrimp was so gummy that we both gagged. It tasted very slightly artificially smoked but otherwise, again, bland. I'm not sure what was inside of it because I couldn't even taste anything. The only flavor came from the spicy tuna on top. The second roll was their namesake roll, also bland. It just tasted like fish, needed a spice or crunch. The first roll we had (I don't remember the name, something mixed with scallion) was bland. We had 4 rolls between 2 people and left hungry. The service was fine, we were seated quickly and served our food within a reasonable time frame.
